CYA continued 1.2

So far working on the CYA project has been going fairly well.  My original idea for the project has stayed the same. In my sketches I was trying to decide how I wanted the beaded strings to hang and whether or not I wanted the beads to make a shape. The first one that I worked on took some time as I was trying to accurately place the correct number of strings and the correct number of beads in the right arrangement. To do this I had to first decide the shape that I wanted. After deciding with the heart shape, I needed to figure out exactly how many strings I would need to make a heart shape. After figuring out that I need 16 strings in total and 8 rows it was easier to map out.

After beading the bear first, I went on to choose the color. I was using wooden beads so I knew that brown would be the majority color for the strings, for the bear I chose blue and on the cow, I chose the color green. At the end of each string had to be a white bead so the shape of the heart is clearer and does not get lost among the other colors. Although the heart shape is not exact I think by looking at it the assumption would be a heart. ( regardless I’m still happy with the outcome. ) Then I wanted to put something on the center of the stuffed animals. This is when I decided I wanted to hand sew a shape on the back of the animals. Even though I have sewn before I wanted this to be looked at as patch work. The bear has a black heart with pink stitching and the cow has a black star with purple stitching. I also added beads to the foot of the bear and to the ears of the cow.

I was then able to write my messages on my clear acrylic blocks using a oil based paint marker and attached it to the head of the stuffed animals. on the cow’s acrylic block i put yellow stars that match with the star patch sewn onto the back and some red hearts for the bear to match the heart patch on the back. Above the sign is a gold hanging clip.
