100 objects continued 1.2
Here is the finished product of my project with the prompt of 100 items with YARN!
crotcheting has always come as a fairly easy skill for me, but for this project, yarn seemed to be the only option calling out to me.
This is a far-off view of the piece in all. The left contrast tot he right and reminds me of the sea with the net-like black part of the piece.

"Caught in the Currents" explores the overwhelming power of emotions, drawing similarities between the vast and unpredictable ocean with the human emotional experience. The same way fish are captured by a net at sea, we can also become trapped by feelings of fear, anxiety, or sorrow. The complexity and intensity of our inner struggles symbolize the crashing waves of the ocean where emotions rise and fall like tides. This piece invites the viewer to reflect on how these powerful and emotional forces shape our lives, often leaving us feeling adrift, yet also revealing the resilience that emerges as we navigate these turbulent emotional waters.
Each yarn piece on the right side of this sculpture is individually tied onto the bigger back piece, which was done by finger crochet. here you can also see some of the chain links I added.
I wanted a different shape that stood out from the straight and wavy pieces of yarn. I wrapped wire with yarn and hung it in the same way the individual strands were hung. I also crocheted braids and squared and placed them into the chaos of strands; this causes a contrast between the hanging shapes
this close-up shoes the contrast between the dark black crocheted piece against the colors on the right side.
