Choose your adventure proposal

The artist that I have chosen to focus on for this project is Portia Munsun. I have also decided to do the option of using the found objects series. I am very intrigued by the work of Portia Munsun. The use of toys specifically is very interesting to me and I aim to use similar materials. Munsun is a visual artist who is known for very vibrant installations and sculptures that explore consumerism, femininity, and the environment which all seem to be important to her. Munsun works mostly with found objects. An interesting observation of Munsun’s work is that she used color themes, separated her materials by shades, and formed them into visually appealing displays that critique culture and even stereotypes. My plan for this project is to use stuffed animals and a mixture of colorful and different-shaped beads and string them onto the stuffed animals in a wind-chimed fashion. Above the stuffed animals I would like to put a piece of acrylic and paint or write a message onto the acrylic. My series will be about my relationship with God and how the world did not end when I thought it was the end. This series will show how my relationship with God has led me through life. These three pieces will all hang by a chain or rope.
